Is Lincoln Riley leaving Oklahoma for the Dallas Cowboys, NFL?

After an announcement from Brock Vandagriff that he will re-open his college recruiting, it is beginning to look that way.

Vandagriff, a five-star quarterback, committed to the Sooners with the note that his participation was tied with Riley’s. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, he confirmed that he would likely not go to Oklahoma if Riley left.

Given Vandagriff’s prior statement, it stands to reason that the youngster may be aware of something the general public does not yet know.

Riley’s name has been linked to a number of NFL openings in recent weeks. That being said, the one franchise he has been continuously associated with over the past year has been the Dallas Cowboys.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has not parted ways with current head coach Jason Garrett yet, but that move is widely assumed to be coming.

Once Jones pulls the trigger, his vacancy will suddenly becoming the hottest availability in all of sports.

Riley has been to the College Football Playoff for three straight years and is viewed by many as something of a quarterback whisperer.

The idea of him linking up with a developing star like Dak Prescott is appealing, for obvious reasons.

Will Riley leave Oklahoma for Dallas? It is hard to say for certain.

Is the likelihood of it occurring far greater today than it was this time last week?

Absolutely.
