Instagram model Sofia Jamora is back in the news, and once again it is related to an NBA player.
Jamora first went viral last year, when another model by the name of Erza Haliti seemingly implicated her in a purported relationship with Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.
“Am I the only one that’s not a fan of LeBron?” the post read. “I guess I’ve never been a fan of guys that cheat on their wives especially with @sofiajamora.”
Although there was a lot of backlash in the moment when that post went viral, it quickly subsided due to a lack of evidence. That said, Jamora could never quite shed the stigma of being attached to the story.
This week, Jamora found herself in the headlines this more. Once again, it had to with an NBA player. But this time, it wasn’t James.
According to TMZ, New Orleans Pelicans star Jaxson Hayes is being sued by Jamora for “getting physical with her.”
Per the court documents, “Jamora claims they started dating in October 2020” and that Hayes “first got violent with her on Valentine’s Day 2021, violently abusing her in a Dallas hotel room.”
Jamora further claimed that “she traveled with Jaxson for his NBA game and shared a hotel room, and when he returned to the room he flipped out when she joked about a lack of Valentine’s Day flowers.
“She claims he cussed her out, hit her with a suitcase he tossed across the room, physically prevented her from leaving the room and broke down a bathroom door to rip her phone out of her hand. In her suit, Jamora claims Jaxson apologized for the Valentine’s Day 2021 incident and swore he would never get physical with her again … but she says more abuse followed as their relationship continued.”
Jamora, who boasts more than 2 million followers on Instagram, has yet to offer a public message on these legal proceedings.

It will be interesting to see where this case goes from here.

But what makes this particular incident different is the legal circumstances and troubling accusations in the mix.
Hopefully all parties involved can get this matter sorted swiftly and in a way that ensures they get the justice they deserve, because the seriousness of the situation definitely calls for it.
