LaVar Ball Explains What People Should Do With AMC Stock

LaVar Ball is no stranger to making headlines for his own various antics. On Thursday, he threw his hat into the mix on something totally unrelated to him: the ongoing saga featuring Reddit traders and the legacy stock market establishment.

Over the past week, Reddit traders have been the subject of much debate for encouraging their fellow users to take advantage of and buy up heavily-shorted stocks like Game Stop, AMC and Nokia. This drove up the share prices of those particular stocks to an insane level, prompting financial services companies like Robinhood to partially halt trading on them.

Naturally, this was not well received.

On Thursday, LaVar, a man of the people, weighed in on the matter.

“That’s right, AMC, everybody go to the movies ‘cuz … ain’t going to do nothing but rocket up. The shorts can’t hold them down. Never sell AMC. Keep buying. No one can hold them back, ‘cuz AMC is something I’ve been loving forever. That’s right man, everybody love going to the movies. … AMC is great. Triple B … This is how we get down. Let’s keep it alive … AMC, don’t let it go baby. I love you.”

So there you have it.

Stock market advice notwithstanding, LaVar has also been in the news over the past week for throwing a tantrum over his son, LaMelo, not being a starter for the Charlotte Hornets.

It got so bad, in fact, that the Hornets’ head coach had to come out and slap him down to size with some cold, hard facts.

Regardless of how you feel about LaVar, he is a personality – so him weighing in on the most viral topic around probably shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone.
