Lane Kiffin Lands a major recruit for Ole Miss in just his second week on the job.
Kiffin, 44, is a very polarizing figure in college football. Some believe he is a great job. Others believe he is just a lucky guy who constantly fails upwards.
Either way, Ole Miss recently decided that the program was going to hitch its wagon to him in hopes of making some noise in the SEC.
Although he has only been on the job for a couple of weeks, Kiffin is already making a difference.
On Monday, Kiffin landed a supremely talented offensive prospect from the 2020 class.
Stephenville High School star quarterback Kade Renfro announced early in the day that he is committing to Ole Miss and Kiffin.
Renfro is rated as a three-star recruit and the No. 51 ranked pro-style quarterback in the nation.
Over the course of 11 games at Stephenville this year, Renfro completed 59.3-percent of his passes for 2,372 yards and 17 touchdowns.
There is a lot that one critique about Kiffin’s coaching style, but his recruiting skills have always been very highly regarded.
Will he ultimately be able to turn Ole Miss around on the strength of his talent evaluation and attainment? Time will tell.
