Lamar Jackson’s Desperate Plea To Donald Trump

Lamar Jackson’s Desperate Plea To Donald Trump

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson made a desperate plea to President Donald Trump on Twitter this week.

On Tuesday, Jackson sent out the following tweet: “Hey @realDonaldTrump @potus my friend @KodakBlack1k deserves to be commuted. The system punished him way to hard for a paperwork crime #freekodak.”

The spontaneous request from Baltimore’s starting quarterback caught a lot of people off guard, given that President Trump has had something of a complicated relationship with the NFL as a whole.

Rapper Kodak Black is currently in federal prison serving a 48-month sentence for illegally trying to purchase firearms in Florida. As things currently stand, he is due to be released in August of 2022.

A gun purchased by Kodak Black was found at the scene of a shooting. According to prosecutors, the rapper lied about his record when he attempted to buy guns, including the one that was found at the shooting.

How President Trump will ultimately respond to Jackson’s request and Kodak Black’s crimes remains to be seen.

Jackson and Kodak Black went to elementary school in Pompano Beach, Florida. Their friendship was on full display during an AFC playoff game in 2018.

Thus far President Donald Trump has commuted the sentences of 24 people.

Will Jackson’s plea be enough to make Kodak Black No. 25?

Time will tell.
