Lakers Offended By Clippers Coach’s LeBron James Comment

The Lakers were offended by a Clippers coach’s LeBron James comment.

Clippers coach Doc Rivers took a little shot at James a few months ago. The incident passed without much fanfare, it seemed.

As it turns out, some people within the Lakers organization took serious offense to it.

The whole thing started when James commented on not believing in load management, an indirect shot at what the Clippers were doing with Kawhi Leonard.

A few days later, Rivers responded that each team had their own philosophy on things, and the Lakers’ was “whatever LeBron says it is.”

According to a report in The Athletic by Jovan Buha and Sam Amick, that retort did not land well with the Lakers.

“The irony was not lost on the Lakers, who sources say weren’t happy with the comment, in part, because of the perceived hypocrisy regarding the Clippers’ style with Leonard,” the article noted.

The Lakers and Clippers have played twice so far this year, with the Clippers winning both games.

That said, the Lakers currently hold the No. 1 spot in the Western Conference and are considered the favorite by many to win the title this year.

Who will ultimately emerge victorious from the Battle For LA? Time will tell.
