Lakers, Knicks Trying To Get Kuzma For Morris Trade Done

The Lakers and Knicks are trying to get a Kyle Kuzma for Marcus Morris trade done, it appears.

New York has been very active over the past 24 hours.

The Knicks opted to adopt a model employed by the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles and hire a big name agent to lead its basketball operations.

On Thursday, CAA’s Leon Rose was tapped with taking over the franchise.

As the team prepares to hand over reigns to him, it still has today’s trade deadline to contend with.

One priority: trading Morris for Kuzma.

According to Frank Isola, the Lakers and Knicks continue to discuss a deal that would result in LA sending its young star to New York in exchange for a veteran forward having the best year of his career.

“Knicks trying to land Kyle Kuzma in a deal that would include Marcus Morris. D’Angelo Russell, who was a tidy minus-48 vs. Brooklyn last night, also remains a target,” he tweeted out.

Of course, Russell was just traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves – so that is off the table.

However, the Morris for Kuzma thing can still happen – and there is exactly one hour to go before the deadline.

Will a deal ultimately get done? We’ll find out soon enough.
