Lakers Cheerleader’s Wild Photos Go Viral After Nuggets Loss

Lakers Cheerleader’s Wild Photos Go Viral After Nuggets Loss

The Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from the Western Conference Finals this week by the Denver Nuggets.

Not only did L.A. fall, but the team did so in the worst way possible – by getting swept.

As ugly as the series got at certain points, Los Angeles’ cheerleaders always came to play.

One Lakers cheerleader in particular became a huge viral star throughout this year’s playoffs.

Sammy, who has more than 11,000 followers on social media, has emerged as a huge fan favorite for obvious reasons.

It goes without saying, but Sammy isn’t the first NBA dancer to blow up in this year’s playoffs. A Miami Heat cheerleader also went mega-viral this past week over her wild photos, as did a Sacramento Kings cheerleader.

Big picture, cheerleading aside, it is hard to get a clear read on how to view this Lakers season.

On one hand, they went from starting 2-10 and being 13th in the West to eventually making the Conference Finals. That is objectively an impressive feat.

On the other hand, there is a good case to be made that this squad – as presently constructed – overachieved. Plus, they benefited greatly from how the West’s playoff seeding went.

Had L.A. landed in the No. 8 seed and had to face Denver in the first round, they might’ve been swept at that point. And if that had occurred, would their late-season run be looked at the same way?

Instead the Lakers got a discombobulated Memphis Grizzlies squad dealing with a star who just this week had even more disturbing allegations levied against him in the first round.

Then after that, they got a Golden State Warriors group comprised of players who hate each other.

That is not to take anything away from the Lakers. The way this squad rallied was impressive any way you want to slice it, but it’s also undeniable that they benefited from some good fortune.

How will Los Angeles ultimately look next season? Time will tell. Either way, though, the Lakers’ cheerleaders will undoubtedly be there rooting them on every step of the way.
