Knicks Plotting Trades For New 3-Headed Monster?

The New York Knicks are coming off an objectively great year.

Although they ultimately flamed out in the playoffs against the Atlanta Hawks, making the postseason for the first time since 2013 is a legitimate achievement – and it deserves acknowledgement.

Now is the time to build on that success.

The Knicks have been linked to possibly making at least one big blockbuster trade this offseason, as well as several smaller deals.

That said, according to Ian Begley of SNY, the Knicks don’t just have their sights set on getting one star to New York.

“As recently as last month, a source said the Knicks have talked internally about the possibility of holding enough cap space this summer for 2022 and keeping enough money around to be able to go after a max player in that 2022 class, which should include Zach LaVine and Bradley Beal.”

Between Julius Randle and one of either LaVine or Beal, the Knicks would have two stars on their hands. At that point, the trade that they’ve been linked to for months now likely comes to fruition – creating a three-headed monster that’s as scary as any in the NBA.

Obviously there are a lot of moving parts and variables at work here, but the blueprint for offseason success has been drawn out.

Whether Knicks brass will ultimately be able to execute on it remains to be seen.
