Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant is gearing up for a major comeback in 2020-21. After missing the entirety of the 2019-20 season with an Achilles tendon injury, the 32-year-old is no doubt itching to get back into the swing of things.
This week, second-year Detroit Pistons forward Sekou Doumbouya posted a photo of him and Durant at a pick-up game. Although everyone was happy to see Durant back on the court, folks couldn’t help but notice something ‘off’ about his hair.
Needless to say, Twitter had some reactions.

Doumbouya eventually deleted the photo, probably after it was pointed out to him how unflattering it was for Durant. However, nothing is ever deleted once it hits the internet.
What a time to be alive. https://t.co/J6Cvhs8X68

Big picture – Durant is one of the most successful and respected NBA players in the sport’s history. He is rich, famous and beloved across the globe. This is a pretty rough photo of him, sure, but in the grand scheme of things he is doing absolutely fine.
As far as the Nets go, this will be an interesting offseason for them. Already, there have been rumors of a potential trade for Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George, as well as Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo. Will either one ultimately happen? Time will tell.
In the mean time, it will be fun to see how Durant responds to the Twitter jokes about his hair. You will recall, his former teammate Kendrick Perkins always talks about how sensitive he is.
“Think about this,” he said last month. “I’m still cool with all my friends, everybody from the NBA family I still could call, I still go to dinner with, I still hang with, we still good people. They know I got a job to do. Except for one person. That’s Kevin Durant. So guess what? That tells me that I’m doing my job well and I’m staying loyal to my brotherhood. Especially the people that I know. Only sensitive guys get mad because you got to talk about them in the media.”
Will Durant get extra in his feelings about the hair jokes and prove Perkins right? We’ll find out soon enough.
