Kevin Durant Opens Up About Kobe Bryant Beef

Kevin Durant is an interesting guy. Whether he’s talking about the ins and outs of sneaking women into the NBA’s bubble last year, his relationship with Kyrie Irving, or the Brooklyn Nets’ championship aspirations – he always knows how to make headlines.

During a recent episode of the ETCs podcast, Durant opened up about a beef he had with Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.

A beef that, in Durant’s words, Bryant never even knew about.

The audio is fascinating:

“The Magics, the Birds, the Jordans, they created that brotherhood amongst the league,” Durant said.

“I felt like I had a beef with Kobe Bryant but he didn’t even know I had this beef … as you get older you look at these guys as just sharpening you and making you better.

“…. When Bron goes to score 50 points or James Harden has 60 points, I’m looking at … how can I top it just to be better … how can I maintain that level I was on too — it’s a healthy competition.”

Durant sat out much of the year due to various ailments. All the free time he had as a result has been filled with fun online activities like eyeing Oklahoma State track star Brooke Thomas and seemingly creeping on an NFL player’s special lady friend.

But now he’s healthy, and the Nets are looking scary in their first round series against the Boston Celtics.
