Jorge Masvidal Getting Released By UFC After Kamaru Usman Snub?

Is Jorge Masvidal getting released by the UFC after getting snubbed for a title fight against Kamaru Usman?

Heading into this week, most assumed that Usman’s next title defense would come against Masvidal. The pair exchanged in trash talk both online and in person, and seemed like the most logical match-up for the welterweight belt.

However, on Tuesday, UFC president Dana White came out and said that it would be Usman taking on Gilbert Burns for the championship at UFC 251, not Masvidal.

Burns is fresh off a victory against former champ Tyron Woodley.

Masvidal has been on social media for the past week complaining about the fact that the UFC is refusing to pay himh is worth. His complaints are similar to ones made by Jon Jones and Henry Cejudo.

Because of how dissatisfied he has been with the UFC, Masvidal has even expressed an openness to being released by the organization. It will be interesting to see if White ultimately obliges that request.
