Joe Judge Makes First Huge Move As Giants Coach

Joe Judge made his first huge move as Giants coach this past week.

Following his introductory press conference, the Bill Belichick disciple got right to work recruiting for his coaching staff.

Over the weekend, Judge made his first big hire.

According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, New York will hire Patrick Graham to serve as the team’s new defensive coordinator.

This past year Graham served as the defensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins.

Judge’s decision is not a surprising one. He previously worked alongside Graham on the New England Patriots from 2012 to 2015.

Graham is also no stranger to the Giants. He served as the organization’s defensive line coach from 2016 to 2017.

New York has high expectations for Judge and his staff. Since Tom Coughlin’s departure in 2015 the team has cycled through three coaches and gone 12-36.

This past season, under Pat Shurmur, the Giants went 4-12.

Now Judge will switch his focus to finding a capable offensive coordinator.
