Joe Burrow Having Second Thoughts About Bengals

Joe Burrow is having second thoughts about the Bengals, it would appear.

At least that is the impression Dan Patrick has gotten.

Appearing on his nationally syndicated radio show this week, Patrick suggested that he did not see a ton of enthusiasm from Burrow on playing for the Bengals.

Patrick recently conducted an interview with Burrow regarding going number one overall in the looming 2020 NFL Draft.

During their exchange, Patrick asked Burrow if he preferred to go first overall or end up with an organization with which he could ultimately win a Super Bowl.

“You know, you want to go No. 1 overall, but you also want to go to a great organization that’s committed to winning and committed to winning Super Bowls,” he responded.

After giving Burrow’s answer some thought, Patrick came to an interested conclusion.

“If Joe Burrow really wanted to go to the Bengals, he would say ‘I hope they draft me. I want to go No. 1 and I want to bring that team back to the Super Bowl,” he said.

“If you’re all in on the Bengals, then it would sound like you’re all in on the Bengals. He’s keeping his options open here because I don’t know if he’s all-in on the Cincinnati Bengals.”

Up to this point, neither Burrow nor his team have made any Eli Manning-style movements to halt being drafted by the Bengals.

Will that change between now and April? Time will tell.
