The Miami Heat defeated the Charlotte Hornets 114-99 on Friday night. Given how good the latter group has been looking so far this season, the victory was no small feat.
With the win, Miami moved to 4-1 on the year.
A big reason for the Heat’s success on Friday night was Jimmy Butler. He recorded a team-high 32 points on 12-of-19 shooting, along with 10 rebounds and 5 assists.
After the game, Butler spoke to the media about a variety of topics. One that came up? His dumbest Heat teammate.
Butler had little trouble identifying who it was. The guilty party? Duncan Robinson.
“I’ve played with some pretty smart players before, and Duncan’s like the dumbest one out of all of them,” he said. “… I’ve been around some Hall of Famers, really great players. It helps when you got guys that are extremely smart and know the game….except for Duncan. He dumb.”
Robinson finished the game on Friday with 10 points.
Butler is one of the league’s more fascinating stars. Whether it’s his relationship with Rachel Nichols or the story of him living in a closet, he always makes headlines for the oddest reasons.

This is just par for the course.
As for Robinson, he is unlikely to take offense. You will recall, he is the reason Miami ultimately didn’t land James Harden. And if the franchise has shown that level of confidence in him, clearly he feels right at home with the Heat.
