Jets Star Le’Veon Bell Explains Adam Gase Beef

Jets Star Le’Veon Bell explained the Adam Gase beef that dominated headlines earlier this year.

At the conclusion of the NFL season, it briefly appeared like a war of words was erupting between Bell and Gase.

As it turns out, that is not the case.

Speaking to TMZ this past week, Bell said that he and the New York head coach were all good.

“Everybody blows everything out of proportion,” he said.

“It’s water under the bridge. We’re fine. We’re good.”

The controversy started when Gase was asked at his postseason press conference whether he wanted Bell back.

The head coach showed little regarding for his running back, simply saying he was under contract for three more years and that all questions should be directed at general manager Joe Douglas.

Bell responded with a cryptic tweet that many viewed as a shot.

Apparently it was not that, though.

This week, Bell said he planned to be a member of the Jets for three more seasons “unless something drastic changes.”

This past season Bell recorded 789 rushing yards and three scores.

More importantly, Gase seemed reluctant to really run the offense through Bell the way that Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers used to.

Will that change in 2020-21? Time will tell.
