Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden is one of the best players in the NBA today.
Rachel Nichols, despite some of her recent controversies, is one of the most popular hoops broadcasters of her generation.
As such, the two of them coming together this past week shouldn’t have been a big story.
The reason why it ended up being one is because NBA fans couldn’t help but notice something about Harden and Nichols’ encounter.

Harden and Nichols actually have a really good relationship. Over the summer the pair went out partying together, and it’s clear that they are still thick as thieves to this day.
Nichols, in general, seems to get along well with a lot of players around the league.
Between her odd flirting with Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker and the way Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo made it a point to give her a gift after her big Maria Taylor feud – it is clear she holds a special place in the hearts of many players.
