James Franklin Loses Penn State Star To Transfer
James Franklin lost a Penn State star to transfer this week.
Wide receiver Justin Shorter has elected to move on to a team in the SEC.
Shorter made the announcement recently on social media.
The former high school star and five-star recruit will transfer to Florida. The Gators were the only program he visited after announcing his intention to depart from Franklinâs team.
Barring a waiver of some sort coming from the NCAA, Shorter will be forced to sit out the 2020 season.

Last season, Shorter started in three games for Penn State and recorded 137 yards on 12 receptions.
He went to the NCAA Transfer Portal in November and subsequently did not play in the Nittany Lionsâ Cotton Bowl victory over Memphis.
In 2018, Shorter participated in four outings. In those games he recorded 20 yards on three receptions.
Originally out of South Brunswick High School, Shorter was the highest-ranked wide receiver in the nation and the number eight overall prospect in the country.
It will be interesting to see if Shorter can turn his collegiate career around at Penn State.
