Isaiah Wilson Makes Surprising NFL Draft Decision

Isaiah Wilson made a surprising NFL Draft decision this week.

Wilson has been absolutely instrumental to Georgia’s offense this year. The right tackle has offered arguably the best protection of any offensive line player in the SEC in 2019.

On Tuesday, he announced that he will forego his remaining eligibility and enter the 2020 NFL Draft.

“I am so appreciative and grateful to GOD for this opportunity that football has given me: it’s been a life changing experience that I will always treasure,” he tweeted out.

“I will surely miss blocking between the hedges but it’s time for the next man up,” Wilson continued.

“This was a huge decision that I prayed about, talked about with my family, and thought about tremendously and it’s not a step that has been taken lightly.

“I have made the decision to enter the 2020 NFL Draft and forego my senior season. – I will begin preparing for the next chapter in my life! I am forever grateful for your support.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Andrew Thomas also announced that he would be entering the draft this year.

It remains to be seen whether Wilson will play in the Sugar Bowl against Baylor.

Assuming both Wilson and Thomas don’t play in the bowl game, it would mean that Georgia would face the Bears’ defense without their two best offensive line players.
