Is D’Eriq King to Arkansas a done deal?

Earlier this week, the star quarterback announced that he was leaving Houston and joining the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Immediately fans began to speculate where precisely he planned to go. LSU, Oregon, Miami, Rutgers and Tennessee were all mentioned as potential destinations.

Given King’s game changing abilities, he quickly emerged as the most coveted free agent in all of college football.

On Thursday, Houston writer Joseph Duarte reported that a favorite for King’s services had emerged: Arkansas.

According to Duarte, Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman and his program are regarded as a “front-runner” to walk away with the young passer.

“Sources: Miami has contacted Houston quarterback D’Eriq King, who announced Monday he will enter the transfer portal. Arkansas is regarded as the front-runner but King has not ruled out other schools,” he wrote on Twitter.

King would be a huge get for an Arkansas program that desperately needs a shot in the arm.

Over the course of his collegiate career King has recorded 4,925 yards and 50 scores in 35 outings. Considered just as much of a threat with his feet as he is his arm, King has also rushed for 1,421 yards and 28 scores.

A final decision on where King will land is expected in the next few days.
