Is Hyun-Jin Ryu signing with the LA Dodgers?

That is the question on the minds of Los Angeles baseball fans after a disappointing week of missed opportunities.

The Dodgers were reportedly in the market for both Gerrit cole and Stephen Strasburg, but ultimately whiffed when it came to acquiring both.

Now all eyes turn to Ryu, a finalist for the NL Cy Young award last year.

On the season, Ryu went 14-5 with a Major League leading 2.32 ERA. That, coupled with a 3.10 FIP, 1.01 WHIP, 163 strikeouts and 24 walks has made him one of the hottest names available on the market.

The Toronto Blue Jays and Minnesota Twins are both seen as being very interested in ultimately acquiring his services.

That being said, the Dodgers are still viewed as having the inside track for Ryu – if they play their cards right.

During a recent interview in South Korea, Ryu suggested that the organization had not yet made any serious overtures to agent Scott Boras.

The lingering belief is that he wants to play on the West Coast, but obviously he will follow the money.

Will Los Angeles ultimately be able to close the deal on Ryu in a way they haven’t been able to thus far this offseason? Time will tell.
