Here Is How Much XFL Players Are Getting Paid
How much are XFL players getting paid?
Thanks to a recent report, we finally have the answer to that question.
According to a recent story by Pro Football Talk, Vince McMahon’s NFL offshoot will be paying its players substantially less than what we have come to expect professional players to be paid.
“XFL players will make an average salary of $55,000 a year,” the report noted.
“Between the base salary, a bonus for being active on game days and a bonus for being on the winning team, the average player will make $55,000 a year.”
For comparison’s sake, the NFL pays a minimum salary of $495,000.
A year ago there was some speculation that the XFL might have to raise its rates due to an influx of new NFL competitor leagues starting up, but the collapse of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) changed that landscape by a lot.
Now that the XFL is really the only NFL-alternative in town, they can set their own prices.
The XFL is set to kickoff in February 2020.
