Green Bay Packers Releasing 5-Time Pro Bowler

The Green Bay Packers are releasing a 5-time Pro Bowler, it would appear.

Green Bay and tight end Jimmy Graham seem to be going their separate ways.

According to Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, the 33-year-old is expected to be cut at some point this offseason.

The Packers will save $8 million by releasing Graham this summer.

“As for players, it’s a given Graham is gone, right? I have to think Martinez is gone, too. Bulaga is the tough call because he had such a good season, but there’s his age and injury,” he said.

“I’m leaning toward thinking he’ll be too expensive, but I need to talk to some people around the league and think it through some more.”

Graham recorded 447 yards and three scores on 38 catches for the Packers last season.

That is a steep drop from the 636 yards on 55 catches he recorded in his first year with the team.

Prior to arriving in Green Bay, Graham used to average nearly 1,100 yards on 89 receptions for the New Orleans Saints.

An official announcement on Graham’s status will be made within the next few weeks.
