FSU Firing Mike Norvell Over George Floyd Comments?

Is FSU firing Mike Norvell over his George Floyd comments? Things rapidly appear to be trending in that direction.

While doing an interview this week the newly-appointed head coach of FSU football revealed that he had personally spoken to each of his players regarding Floyd’s death.

“And that was something that was important to me because this is a heartbreaking time in our country,” he said.

“You see hate and you see discrimination. You see some of the acts that have occurred; I mean it’s a problem. And it’s something that we have to stand together and we have to work to get it fixed.”

Early Thursday morning, Seminoles defensive lineman Marvin Wilson posted on Twitter that the head coach had lied in that interview.

Beyond just calling him out, Wilson also suggested that he would not be working out for his new coach until this matter was resolved.

“This is a lie and me and my teammates as a whole are outraged and we will not be working out until further notice,” he posted on social media.

Now many are calling for Norvell’s firing.

Will FSU’s administration give in to the public pressure and terminate their new head coach before he has even had a chance to participate in a single outing for the program? Time will tell.
