Earl Thomas Fight Video Reveals Truth About Chuck Clark Altercation

Earl Thomas released video on Saturday morning aimed at providing clarity regarding his fight with teammate Chuck Clark.

Thomas was dismissed by the Baltimore Ravens on Friday afternoon following an altercation with Clark. Reports immediately surfaced describing the squabble, but nobody provided much in the way of context for what transpired.

Thomas fixed that less than a day later, when he took to Instagram to share his side of the story.

Being sent home sucks I can’t take the reps I need to keep momentum going .. but I can reflect on things and keep working my plan to help the team win… This has been one of of my best camps crazy a situation like this can through dirt on it.. Here is the clip that started the fight .. A mental error on my part .. A Busted coverage that I tried to explain calmly meet with built up aggression turned into me getting into with a teammate .. Since we didn’t keep it in house and I’m getting text and calls from ESPN reporters etc : thought I’d try and clear the air .. situations like this narrow my window for error but this the path I choose.. #Footballschool #TrainingCamp #SkinwhatCat #Focused 😈

The video provided by Thomas certainly adds some missing details from the conversation that has been taking place over the past day.

Earl Thomas, Ravens Need To Get On Same Page

At the end of the day, skirmishes during practice happen. It is common and not a big deal. What is a little less common, however, is players sharing practice footage on social media because they feel like their names are getting dragged through the mud.

That is not ideal for a number of reasons.

One, it indicates that the players involved don’t feel like the organizations or their teammates have their back. Two, it turns what should be a small issue into a much bigger one. And three, it leads to lingering trust issues between all parties involved for an extended period of time.

Baltimore is heading into a 2020 campaign where many view the team as a legitimate title contender. Last year’s postseason disappointment took some shine off the Ravens, but not much. Offensively and defensively, this is a very stacked group.

If everyone involved is on the same page, this team can be really, really scary. But if distractions are creeping up this early in the game, one cannot help but wonder whether the Ravens will have the cohesiveness that’s necessary to take things to the next level in 2020.
