Duke Cheerleader’s Photos Cause A Stir After Vermont Win

Duke defeated Vermont in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday.

Thanks to strong showings from Jared McCain and Mark Mitchell, who each chipped in 15 points, the Blue Devils were able to overcome a career-low performance from Kyle Filipowski.

Filipowski, one of the biggest names in college hoops, took exactly one shot and scored three points for the outing.

While the Blue Devils’ 27-point victory didn’t make a ton of headlines given how expected that end result was, a Duke cheerleader did cause something of a stir.

The Duke cheerleader in question, Maddie, went viral in the aftermath for her social media posts:

Big picture, Duke did exactly what it was supposed to do in Round 1 of the tournament.

The big question is what comes next.

Expectations are high for the Blue Devils right now.

Will the program be able to give Duke’s cheerleaders something to legitimately get excited about as March Madness chugs along? Time will tell.
