Doc Rivers Has Brutally Honest Response For Trump
Doc Rivers offered a brutally honest response to recent comments made by President Donald Trump.
Speaking to the media last week, President Trump indicated his displeasure with athletes’ insistence on taking a knee for the National Anthem. He suggested that he did not support the act and took personal offense to it.
“I think it’s disgraceful,” Trump said.
“We worked with the NBA, we worked with them very hard trying to get them open. I was pushing to get them open, and then I see everybody kneeling during the anthem. It’s not acceptable to me.”
On Wednesday, Rivers was asked how he felt about the President’s remarks.
“We know justice is on our side,” he said.
“And this [vote] hat I am wearing is what our president is trying to get us to not do which is just as disgraceful.”
“We know that justice is on our side. This hat that I’m wearing is what our President is trying to get us to not do.”

Rivers has made increasing voter turnout his big message during the NBA bubble. The Los Angeles Clippers head coach has referenced on it multiple occasions, and made it clear that the cause is near and dear to his heart.
With the NBA’s continued push for social justice, this is likely not the last time a player or coach will ultimately clash with President Trump on various societal matters.
