Tuesday afternoon’s battle between the Los Angeles Lakers and Toronto Raptors got chippy in a hurry.
Late in the first quarter, a bizarre sequence of events occurred featuring OG Anunoby of the Raptors and Dennis Schroder of the Lakers.
Following a foul, Schroder held on to Anunoby as he fell – apparently irritating the former Indiana standout.
This prompted Anunoby to respond in kind.
With a weird wrestling move.

Anunoby was promptly ejected from the game. He finished with 2 points and 3 assists in 10 minutes played on the night.
The decision to kick Anunoby out was a good one. Earlier this season we literally watched one NBA player fracture another’s wrist and walk away unpunished. Similarly, LeBron James’ dirty play on Joel Embiid had lasting ramifications for the entire season – and he didn’t get punished either.

Permitting this sort of violent play to occur leads to it happening more and more. The refs did the right thing putting an end to the craziness early.
