D’Eriq King Transferring To LSU?

Is D’Eriq King transferring to LSU?

Earlier this week King announced that he was officially transferring from Houston to a new destination.

Although he did not specify which new program he was moving to, he has repeatedly been linked to Miami, Oregon and Tennessee.

Recently, Bleacher Report writer David Kenyon offered another intriguing option for King: LSU.

The Tigers are fresh off a National Championship and widely regarded as one of the best programs in the country.

Heisman quarterback Joe Burrow is entering the NFL Draft this summer, so the team will have a vacancy at starting quarterback.

As noted by Bleacher Report, if he opts for LSU, King would have to battle it out with junior Myles Brennan for the starting gig.

Brennan went 24-of-40 for 353 yards and a score this past season, but he saw very limited action. It is unclear if he would do better or worse with more snaps in Burrow’s absence.

King is a more proven commodity. In 2018 he threw for almost 3,000 yards and 36 scores, all while displaying the sort of talent and versatility that you rarely see at the collegiate level.

A decision from King is expected in the coming days. If he does ultimately choose LSU, it could make the transition from Burrow a lot less bumpy for the defending champs.
