Deonna Purrazzo Explains Picking Impact Over AEW After WWE Release

Deonna Purrazzo recently explained picking Impact over AEW after her WWE release.

Purrazzo parted ways with the WWE not long ago, and most fans expected her to end up in Cody Rhodes’ AEW promotion. However, in a surprising twist, she opted to go a different route.

Instead of joining AEW, Purrazzo signed with Impact Wrestling.

When pressed on her decision, Purrazzo explained that it actually was not that tough of a choice.

“I mean like, some people had reached out,” she said of AEW.

“But it was all kind of like fleeting, there was no like, ‘You’re gonna have a meeting’ or, ‘We’re gonna sit down and do this.’ Luckily, I had been to Impact before, I know the people there and it was right away like, ‘We’d like to have you, let’s talk about it when we can.’ It was just more of a secure thing.”

Based on the fan base that Purrazzo has created for herself over the past few years, it is very likely that AEW will come to regret their decision not to give her a shot.

Next up for Purrazzo? Squaring off against Impact Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace for her title at the upcoming Slammiversary PPV on July 18.
