DeMar DeRozan Gets Brutally Honest About LeBron James, Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers came very close to acquiring DeMar DeRozan this past summer.

Two major roadblocks ultimately prevented a deal from actually coming to fruition, but for a while, things looked extremely optimistic.

LeBron James, in particular, made his opinion on DeRozan very clear.

Unfortunately, there was no trade to be made and DeRozan opted to join the Chicago Bulls instead.

This week, the 32-year-old opened up about the prospect of joining James and the Lakers.

“They was great, honestly,” DeRozan told Shams Charania of Stadium regarding the Lakers.

“Tried to make it work, had plenty of conversations with Bron. Tried to make it work…just didn’t work. You know how the business goes. One thing can just change the whole dynamic on everything. But it was a hell of an opportunity that we tried to make happen. Me bring from LA would’ve been crazy, but some things just don’t work out. It’s always great just to have the opportunity.”

DeRozan’s Bulls have looked tremendous in the preseason so far. After beating the Cleveland Cavaliers by 20+ a few days ago, the team turned around and defeated the New Orleans Pelicans by 30+ on Friday night.

Aside from the crisis surrounding Zach LaVine’s next deal – the future looks bright in Chicago.
