Daytona 500 Crash Horrifies NASCAR Fans

A Daytona 500 crash horrified NASCAR fans on Monday.

NASCAR’s most famous race re-started today, one day after being rained out on Sunday afternoon.

Unfortunately, instead of talking about the day’s most fun sequences, a wreck stole the conversation.

Just before he was able to cross the finish line, driver Ryan Newman was involved in a terrible crash that knocked him out of contention and the lead.

The momentum from the wreck carried Newman’s car into the wall and caused him to flip over multiple times – with the car repeatedly landing on its roof.

When the vehicle finally came to a rest, flames could be seen shooting from it.

Safety crews immediately rushed over and extricated Newman from the wreckage. He was quickly rushed to the hospital.

As medical services tended to Newman, Denny Hamlin ended up winning his third career Daytona 500.
