Danny Green was a key member of this year’s championship-winning Los Angeles Lakers squad. Although he often found himself on the wrong end of fan criticism due to his poor shooting, the 33-year-old’s solid defense and smart play was vital throughout the entire playoffs.
This past week, as part of his celebratory media tour, Green appeared on “The Breakfast Club” to talk about a variety of topics. Part of the way through the interview, things took an odd turn.
One of the show’s co-hosts, Charlemagne, is known for asking weird questions. During a past interview with the rapper Logic, Charlemagne pressed him on his sister’s sexual assault. Asking bizarre questions is just his thing. And it happened again during the Green interview, when Charlemagne demanded to know more about Tim Duncan’s sexuality.
“So, is Tim Duncan bisexual?” Charlemagne asked Green, seemingly out of nowhere.

Green was a teammate of Duncan’s on the San Antonio Spurs for a six-year stretch between 2010 and 2016, during which they won one championship together in 2014.

Duncan was married to Amy Sherill for 12 years before their divorce in 2013. The pair met at Wake Forest, where he was a college basketball star and she was a cheerleader. Their divorce proceedings ultimately got extremely messy, with tawdry rumors emerging regarding both parties.
Following the divorce proceedings going public, various uncorroborated reports began to emerge regarding Duncan’s sexuality. They seemingly came from blog sites that didn’t look especially legit, but for obvious reasons, some people still believed them.

Bisexuality rumors notwithstanding, Duncan is currently dating Vanessa Macias, with whom he has a daughter. While that clearly doesn’t necessarily mean that he can’t be bisexual, it definitely casts some doubt over the rumor.

Either way, though – Charlemagne ambushing Green with this line of questioning is objectively weird. Fortunately, the Lakers star handled it about as well as anyone could and casually moved on from the uncomfortable conversation.
