Cowboys Star Has Message For Owner Jerry Jones

Cowboys star Amari Cooper has a message for owner Jerry Jones.

That message? He wants to remain in Dallas.

Cooper is one of 25 unrestricted free agents that Jones has to figure out what to do with this offseason.

Thus far, the team has made it clear that re-signing quarterback Dak Prescott to a long-term deal is priority number one.

After that, all attention will presumably turn to Cooper.

For now, the wide receiver is willing to wait.

“I love Dallas,” Cooper said.

“I do, I mean that wholeheartedly, I feel like it’s home. I want to live there for a long time.”

That said, if Dallas does not step up to the negotiating table eventually, Cooper realizes that he may have to go elsewhere.

The Cowboys traded for Cooper in a deal with the Oakland Raiders right before the 2018 trade deadline.

Over the course of the past two years, Cooper has recorded 1,914 yards and 14 scores on 132 catches in 25 outings.

In 2019, the star receiver amassed 1,189 yards and eight scores on 79 passes. That comes out to 15.1 yards per reception.

Given how much the Cowboys will inevitably end up paying Prescott, it remains to be seen how much money will ultimately be left over for Cooper.
