Cowboys Make Huge Addition To Team

The Cowboys made a huge addition to the team on Friday.

This week, Mike McCarthy made an important upgrade to the defense that should pay dividends in 2020.

According to NFL insider Clarence Hill Jr., Dallas is hiring George Edwards as a senior analyst to work with the linebacker group.

Edwards previously spent six seasons as the defensive coordinator of the Minnesota Vikings.

He ultimately pared ways with the organization at the end of 2019.

With Edwards at the helm, Minnesota ranked in the top ten defensively five times.

In 2017, the team ranked at the top of the NFL in defense.

Edwards is no stranger to the Cowboys.

He previously worked with Dallas as a linebackers coach for three years from 1998 to 2001.

In 2019, the Cowboys finished 11th in points allowed and ninth in yards.

It remains to be seen what impact Edwards will ultimately have on the Cowboys defense in 2020.
