Connor McDavid is arguably the best hockey player in the world right now and has an extremely bright future ahead of him.
The Edmonton Oilers team captain played a pivotal role in his squad’s success in 2022 – helping them secure a Western Conference Final berth this season for the first time in 16 years. Although they would eventually come up short against the Colorado Avalanche, it’s hard to fault him for that.
After his 2021-22 run came to an end, McDavid found himself in the headlines once more in recent weeks. So did his girlfriend Lauren Kyle.
But not for a good reason.
In mid-June, McDavid was spotted leaving an establishment. The video of the incident largely speaks for itself. The whole thing was extremely awkward and led to many people wondering what it meant for McDavid and Kyle’s relationship.
This sordid incident occurred more than two weeks ago, and to date, neither McDavid nor Kyle has commented on it. Moreover, neither party has acknowledged the other on Instagram.
Just this past weekend Kyle posted a series of semi-provocative photos on the platform:
But nothing from or regarding McDavid. Her last few posts don’t mention him at all either:

Obviously cheating allegations in the sports world are nothing new. They come with the territory.
When you consider LA Lakers superstar LeBron James having to fight racy rumors about his alleged mistress and Barcelona star Gerard Pique’s personal DMs being leaked, it feels like the last few weeks have been filled with multiple examples.
But usually there is some kind of acknowledgement followed by either confirmation or denial. There hasn’t really been any of that here.

It is impossible to know what McDavid did or didn’t do without additional context. Ditto when it comes to knowing the status of his and Kyle’s relationship presently.
Hopefully at some point the couple will come out and tell the public what’s what. Because if they don’t, rumors will likely continue to run rampant.
