Jamie Newman To Georgia A Done Deal?
Is Jamie Newman to Georgia a done deal?
When Jake Fromm announced he was entering the NFL Draft this week, the Bulldogs suddenly found themselves needing a new quarterback.
Fortunately for Kirby Smart, it just so happens that Newman is looking to transfer from Wake Forest and to a more prominent program.
According to a recent report from 247Sports, Newman has narrowed down his list of schools he is interested in to Georgia, Miami, Washington and Oregon.
Oregon was considered an early favorite for Newman’s services with Justin Herbert going pro, but the Bulldogs are making a late run to become the new favorites.
Newman led Wake Forest to eight victories this past year. It marked the first time since 2007 that the program reached that mark.
In the process, Newman finished with 2,868 yards and 26 touchdowns on 61 percent passing. He also contributed 574 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns.
Newman will without question provide a huge boost to Georgia’s SEC Championship aspirations if he ultimately transfers over. Without him, the Bulldogs will have a lot of trouble filling the gaping hole left behind by Fromm.
