LSU vs Oklahoma Winner Obvious, Says Computer Model
The LSU vs Oklahoma winner is obvious, says a computer model.
Heading into the College Football Playoff there is a clear difference between how people are perceiving the two first-round games.
Ohio State vs Clemson is being seen as a battle of two titans. The latter is the defending champ coming to defend its crown. The former has been arguably the best team in the nation all season long.
Conversely, LSU vs Oklahoma is being regarded as a mismatch by most.
Whereas the Tigers have arguably done the best against the toughest level of competition all year long, Oklahoma is seen as having snuck its way into the postseason.
If not for Alabama being plagued by injuries, Baylor choking twice, and Georgia having to play LSU – the Sooners likely would not even be vying for a National Championship right now.
Recently, a computer model analyzed the looming showdown between these two teams.
Using the Fremeau Efficiency Index, the model noted that LSU would likely win this game by a margin of 12.2 points.
The Fremeau Efficiency Index is defined as a “college football rating system based on opponent-adjusted possession efficiency, representing the per possession scoring advantage a team would be expected to have on a neutral field against an average opponent.”
Will LSU ultimately be able to live up to expectations and beat Oklahoma? We’ll find out for certain in two week’s time.
