Chip Kelly Loses UCLA Star To Transfer

Chip Kelly lost a UCLA star to transfer this week.

Tight end Jordan Wilson announced on Friday that he is leaving the Bruins this offseason.

The redshirt junior made the announcement via Twitter that he was entering the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Wilson plans to use his remaining year of eligibility to play for a different program after graduating from UCLA in the Spring.

In 2019, Wilson recorded 10.3 yards per reception and amassed seven catches for 72 yards.

The move comes as a bit of a surprise as Wilson was viewed as the successor to Devin Asiasi, who opted to leave for the NFL this year.

Wilson is not the only Bruin on his way out.

Matt Lynch also announced that he was departing UCLA recently.

It will be interesting to see how Kelly ultimately fills the growing void he is developing at the tight end position heading into 2020.
