Chiefs Star Mocks 49ers After Super Bowl

A Chiefs star mocked the 49ers after the Super Bowl.

On Sunday, Kansas City defeated San Francisco to win Super Bowl LIV.

Chiefs defensive lineman Frank Clark did not emerge from the outing particularly impressed by Niners quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

After the game, Clark did a quick interview during which he brutally disparaged Garoppolo’s performance in the biggest game of his career.

“You paying the guy $140 million, $130 million, whatever he’s getting paid, man,” Clark said.

“He’s gotta throw the ball. Obviously he didn’t do that. They threw for about 200 yards on checkdowns; that ain’t enough to win a game against us.”

Garoppolo’s deal pays him $137.5 million over the span of five years.

As Clark noted, that is simply too much cash for someone you don’t trust to throw the ball down field.

When it was all said and done, Garoppolo recorded 219 yards, one touchdown and two picks on 20-of-31 passing in the losing effort.

If San Francisco hopes to return to the Super Bowl in the next few years and actually come out victorious, the organization will need to figure out whether Garoppolo is the man they truly want as the team’s starting quarterback.
