Chicago Cubs Trading Kris Bryant To Philadelphia Phillies

The Chicago Cubs are trading Kris Bryant to the Philadelphia Phillies, it would appear.

It is no secret that the Cubs are scrambling to make some big moves after consecutive years of underwhelming performances.

There was some talk late last year about a deal like this happening, but ultimately nothing ever materialized.

The timing seems to be right now, though.

Chicago desperately wants to replenish their farm system and there is growing concern that Scott Boras wants Bryant to become a free agent.

According to Bruce Levine of 670 The Score, talks between the Cubs and Phillies are ongoing.

It is clear why Philly would make a move for Bryant. Last year he hit .282 with 31 homers. He would be a huge asset for a team desperately trying to make the playoffs.

Will a deal ultimately come together? Well, usually where there is smoke, there is fire. Particularly when conversations have already taken place once before.
