Chargers Star Says Tom Brady Not Coming To LA

A Chargers star says Tom Brady is not coming to LA.

Former Chargers center Nick Hardwick came out recently and threw cold water on the rumors of Brady moving to Los Angeles.

Hardwick appeared on the NBC Patriots Talk Podcast this week and said that it simply does not make sense for Brady to switch from an organization like the New England Patriots to the Chargers.

“He goes from the New England Patriots, an organization that owns two private 737s with Patriots logos on the side, and then to come out to L.A. and comes to an organization that is not an owner but a renter of a stadium,” he said.

“I can’t conceptualize that.”

In Hardwick’s estimation, the only real benefit of a move like this would be helping Brady launch his media career.

That has long been rumored as Brady’s preferred next chapter once he is done playing.

In a lot of ways it would be similar to what LeBron James is doing with the Los Angeles Lakers.

James has made it clear that he has the same post-playing aspirations – being involved in the media business in some capacity.

“It makes zero sense to me,” Hardwick said.

“Other than perhaps he wants to be in the (media) production business and to get closer to that.”

Up to this point, Brady has been keeping his cards pretty close to the vest.

Although he has not explicitly expressed interest in leaving New England, he has also offered zero in the way of indication that he wants to return to the Patriots.

Over the past few months Brady has been linked to the Chargers, Las Vegas Raiders, Tennessee Titans, Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts.

Whether he will really choose one of those organizations over the one he has spent his entire career with remains to be seen.

Brady will officially become an unrestricted free agent in a few months.

At that point, he will likely make a decision relatively quickly.
