Carmelo Anthony Refusing To Play Against Lakers?

Is Carmelo Anthony refusing to play against the Lakers because of how emotional the game will be?

That is what some people are suggesting, following news that he will sit out Friday’s showdown between the Portland Trail Blazers and LA.

This will mark the first outing for the Lakers since the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant in a helicopter crash on Sunday afternoon.

An understandably somber and emotional event, nobody quite knows what to expect from the game.

The Blazers announced on Thursday that Anthony would sit out due to “personal reasons,” with no specific one cited.

Anthony and Bryant were known to be extremely close, so many are speculating that to be the cause.

In Instagram post this past week, Anthony indicated that Bryant was supposed to be at Friday’s game.

It is unclear how the Lakers plan to honor Bryant at Friday’s game, but it will surely be a night to remember for all involved.
