Camila Giorgi’s Inappropriate Dress Sparks Outrage At French Open

Controversy erupted this past weekend at the French Open when tennis star Camila Giorgi showed up in what was deemed an inappropriate dress.

The No. 30 ranked player was confronted by an umpire ahead of her third-round showdown against No. 7 Aryna Sabalenka.

According to the umpire, Giorgi’s dress was declared unacceptable.

What was so offensive about it?

Well, it featured a notable DeLonghi logo – deemed a no-no by the official in question. The photos largely speak for themselves:

“I don’t have any change, this is my only dress. I played with it before,” Giorgi apparently informed the umpire.

In the end, Giorgi ended up playing and defeating Sabalenka 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 to advance to the fourth round. Unfortunately, there, she ended up falling to Daria Kasatkina.

Aside from being a successful tennis player, Giorgi is also a notable Instagram model. Her posts largely speak for themselves:

Giorgi has accumulated more than 600,000 followers on the platform to date. After this past weekend’s kerfuffle, it’s safe to assume that her online presence will grow even more going forward.

This has been a wild week for the sport of tennis. Between Genie Bouchard’s racy photos coming out online and now this – it has been one thing after another.

What will Giorgi ultimately go viral for next?

Time will tell.
