Cam Newton Looks Different In New Patriots Jersey
Cam Newton signed with the New England Patriots this offseason after parting ways with the Carolina Panthers earlier in the summer. He spent nine years with the Panthers, so understandably, most are used to seeing him in that uniform.
On Tuesday, the Patriots released a photo of Newton in his new jersey. It caught people off guard, to say the least.

Prior to being picked up by New England, Newton struggled to find a team that would take him. He eventually settled for a $1.75 million, incentive-laden deal with Bill Belichick and Co.
The Patriots had their own struggles this offseason. After a lengthy negotiation with Tom Brady, the two sides were unable to come to terms. After two decades with the organization, Brady left New England for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
At this stage it is unclear who will ultimately be the Patriots’ starting quarterback. A healthy Newton would seem like the logical choice, but he has not been fully healthy in many years. If he cannot go, Jarrett Stidham is the next man up – but he obviously lacks any real experience as a starter.
A final decision on who will open Week 1 as the Patriots’ starter should come in the next few weeks.
