Cade Cunningham Leaving Oklahoma State?

Is Cade Cunningham leaving Oklahoma State? Things appear to be trending in that direction after the NCAA instituted a one-year postseason ban against the Cowboys.

The NCAA made its ruling after discovering that an Oklahoma State coach accepted bribes in an effort to impact student-athletes. The coach is said to have accepted somewhere between $18,000 and $22,000 in payoffs.

As a result, Oklahoma State has been banned from the postseason for a year and fined $10,000. In addition, three scholarships have been taken away and the school has been placed on probation for three years.

Five-star recruit Cunningham signed with Oklahoma State last November. Given the school’s precarious situation now, it makes little sense for him to remain with the Cowboys.

Why play if you cannot play for a postseason berth?

Cunningham has three options in front of him: transfer to another school, go play in the G-League, or simply sit out. Regardless of what he chooses, the youngster figures to be a top-three pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
