Browns Issue Unexpected Odell Beckham Injury Update

The Browns issued an unexpected Odell Beckham injury update on Tuesday.

This past week, the talented wide receiver underwent surgery for his sports hernia-related injury.

Cleveland traded a massive amount of assets to the New York Giants for Beckham last year, only to watch him severely underperform on the field.

Between his poor play and worse attitude, there were murmurs that the organization might trade him this summer.

For now, it appears that chatter had been laid to rest.

Over the course of last season Beckham amassed 1,035 yards and four scores on 74 catches – totals significantly lower than what Cleveland had in mind when it traded for him.

Beckham’s inability to adjust to his new team had a carryover effect.

The Browns’ young quarterback, Baker Mayfield, regressed significantly in his sophomore campaign in part at last due to Beckham’s inefficiency.

Cleveland ended up finishing the season with a 6-10 record – good for third place in the AFC North.

The poor 2019-20 campaign led to a complete re-haul of the organization, with the team’s head coach and general manager both ultimately being shown the door.
