Browns Benching Baker Mayfield After Steelers Struggles?

Browns Benching Baker Mayfield After Steelers Struggles?

Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns knew it would be a tough day at the office against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mike Tomlin and Co. always come ready to play. But nobody could have predicted how ugly things would get early on in the outing. It has been an absolute bloodbath.

With three minutes remaining in the first half, Cleveland is already down 0-24.

So far, Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield has already thrown one pick six to Minkah Fitzpatrick and one interception to Cameron Sutton.

Through one and a half quarters of action, Mayfield is four of 10, has thrown two interceptions, has been sacked twice, and has a rating of 13.8.

Naturally, Browns fans did not take kindly to Mayfield’s early struggles. They are now clamoring for him to be benched.

Obviously there are still two full quarters of game left and anything is possible. Cleveland could come back and win. Mayfield could rebound and have the best performance of his life.

But for now – both the quarterback and his team are struggling. And if they continue to perform like this, benching Mayfield will become an increasingly attractive proposition.
