New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick found himself on the COVID-19 front lines this week.

Heading into a game between the Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs, Belichick’s quarterback, Cam Newton, came down with the virus. That forced the outing to be pushed to Monday night and nearly derailed it altogether.

So when game time finally rolled around on Monday, Belichick wasn’t taking any chances.

Needless to say, Twitter had some reactions.

Regardless of what happens against the Chiefs, Belichick and the Patriots got some good news to start the week.

If Newton is asymptomatic, which currently seems to be the case, he can return five days after his initial positive test. All he would have to do is return two negative PCR tests in a row that are least one day apart.

That means Newton can be back as soon as this week.
