Bill Belichick Responds To Latest Patriots Cheating Accusations

Bill Belichick responds to the latest Patriots cheating accusations in a recent interview.

Last week, the New England defeated the Dallas Cowboys in a game at Gillette Stadium.

The 13-9 victory came in somewhat controversial fashion when the referees called two tripping penalties on the Cowboys that ultimately swung the game in the other direction.

After the fact, Belichick was accused of tipping off referees to be on the lookout for tripping.

This week, Belichick addressed those rumors head on.

“No. I mean, the Cowboys are one of the least penalized teams in the league,” he said.

“They do a great job. I want to say they had the fewest pre-snap penalties — you know, illegal formation and false start and stuff like that. They had one in our game offensively, but they rarely have that.”

He did not stop there, though.

“They don’t have a lot of offensive holding or pass interference or penalties like that,” Belichick added.

“They’re one of the least penalized teams in the league. I think that their coaching staff, Coach [Jason] Garrett and their coaches, they do a great job of that.

“I’d say just in general they’ve had some personal foul penalties, but as far as the fundamentals of blocking, tackling, alignment – things like that – offsides, false starts, they’re one of the least in the league.”

The NFL came out after the fact and acknowledged that neither of those tripping penalties should have been called.
